Ungifting someone
Got a question regarding revoking a gift you've given someone..

In short, lied about being a friend and said I'd get gifted a game, I gave them a gift as they said they'd be gifting me one. So I bought at $25 one, sent it, they accepted it. Then from that point on, lie after lie and basically had zero things to do with me for about 2 months.
I eventually unfriended them because they were basically dishonest from the start. I never got the gifted game they said they would and then was booted from discord and blocked so I had no way to contact them.
In all, I got scammed.

My question is, even if I lose the money I spent on the gifted game I sent them (and i'm all in for losing the money at this point), is there a way to have the game revoked from their library so they have no access to it?

As stated, I don't care if I lose the money I spent gifting it to them. I _believe_ they've only played just over an hour of it, but they've had the gifted game since 25th March so its well past the 14 day "ungifting" option. Since I gifted the game and actually spent my own money on it, I should have some grounds to have the game removed from them.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You can't un-gift anything once they accepted it, without their permission to refund it. Assuming the refund requirements are met as well.

The moment your ex friend accepted the gift it became 100% their property.
You have ZERO rights regarding that game. Its a GIFT.
So no, there is neither a way to revoke that game or get a refund.
For the latter you would need that persons permission and since you are outside the refund time limit by a cosiderable margin anway there is no point.

For the future, only gift away games if you are sure you can live with losing the money you spend on it. Dont expect anything in return, ever.
Also DONT give out gifts for promises of a later return of that favor.

Why gift them anyway? You buy yourself a game and they can buy themself a game. Just the idea of gifting each other screams Scam to me.

Learn the lesson, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

If you want to buy someone a gift, that's fine. If the offer is buy me a game and I'll buy you an equal value game, well the gift system isn't really designed for that sort of trade. Sounds like your friend should buy himself a game and you can by yourself a game. And whatever excuses are peer pressure your friend applies is just more red flags.

Gifts aren't leverage you can use to punish someone when you're mad at them. It's not your think anymore. It's their thing. You have it to them. You have no control over their things regardless of your feelings or regrets now.
