Download: console 40mbps and library 1000 mbps ???

Hey guys,
I noticed that my download speed is very low when I use the console the load older depots/manifests of a game version.
In console I only load with 40mbps (around 5MB/s). When I download the actual version of game the normal way I get over 1000 mbps (125 MB/s). thats 25x faster.
Is that normal that its slowed out when using the console? need an older depot of game to test something. Dont know why its such a big difference.

That's normal, you're being throttled because you're accessing a different download server rather than data on Steam's main server most likely. You'd rarely ever need to access an older depot of a game as developers and Steam want you to be on the latest version unless the publisher offers a Beta branch of an older version.

ah ok cause those 130GB take only 20 minutes for me, but in console with that older version I really need, many many hours. Have to load over the night. Thank you for calming down. Thought I made mistake.

used SteamDepotDownloaderGUI now and wsa able to download old branches with full speed (1 gigabit)
