Its a scam, valve will never contact you via discord.
This is a scam
Dude. No. Definite scam, block and move on.

Why would steam contact you through discord, if they aren't even doing it through steam itself?
They'll never use any kinds of chats, not on discord, nor through steam to talk to you.

Everything is always scam.

You forgot to say that Valve will not add Steam as friends and report it
Steam related on Discord = 100% scam. Each time, every time.
I can confirm from the messages below that that is a Scam. Do not listen to them. Block and report if necessary and send it to Support on Steam through the Help Section Tab.

- Steam only contacts you through the ticket system (you will see a red/yellow bar on top of your client). Not through friend list members, not through profile edits, and certainly not through external websites.

- "Accidential reports", even if they happened, are irrelevant. All reports are checked manually and based on evidence in the system. You could be reported hundreds of times and would never even get to know about it.

- The target of the scam is either to get your login information, get you to send items and/or gift cards for "verification", or both of this and also a dozen other ripoffs until you notice.

Valve staff doesn't need another platform to contact you. They have Steam, after all.
P.S.: While the suggested "block, report and ignore" advice is the most reasonable thing to do, if you feel like having fun, you may toy around with them a little. Don't click any links and don't give out true information (making stuff up is a fair deal of course), and nothing can happen to you. Ask for explanations. Pretend problems. Ask for support in completely unrelated Steam things or make suggestions to improve the platform...
You might at least keep them hooked for another minute or two this way, although internet chat scammers are a notoriously impatient bunch and will not fall for it very long.

Thank you guys. You're the best.
Valve Employees will never ask you for personal or account information, on Steam or anywhere else. You can safely ignore anyone who claims to have mistakenly reported you - that will not get you banned.

Three things.

1. Don't bump dead threads,

2, Just report them, block, and move on with life.

3. Name and shame will get YOU banned. You cannot name people.
