so i had an account and i have the password and username, i login to the account and realise i forgot the email, okay then i decide to look at the hint of what email it is and it just says gmail.com like i dont know that i use gmail, so okay i go account recovery, and it tells me that i can put my user, email or phone number, so i do have the username! okay cool so i put it in and apparently i can't use my username to recover the account even though it says i can, and i don't have a card or something linked and i dont remember my email nor phone so yea, this is not something i really need just wondering if i could recover it

I'm pretty sure it says "account name" instead of "user name".

You must be logged out of all accounts to start the account recovery process.

You don't need access to the email, phone or password currently tied to the hijacked/hacked/stolen/lost account for this to work. Just pick the "I do not have access..." or a similar option when asked.

The recovery process allows you to provide proof of ownership.

in order to recover a steam account, along the way, you'll need to provide Proof of Ownership.

This can be a CDkey you've activated on steam, like old orange box cd or other old games, like doom, unreal tournament and so on. Or, a cc number you've used for purchases, or a phone number linked to the account, or a receipt of a topup transaction.

If you don't have that, going through the recovery process will get you stuck on this. Even if you have access to the old email, that's not enough.

thanks guys, i dont have the cdkey of the games i activated or most stuff that i need to recover the account, i will search a bit more to find the email i used but if i cant find it no problem
