Someone Hacks my steam account and instagram, then bought something from steam market
Help me guys, I dont want to get hacked again :(
I will make it fast and easy:

1. Someone logged into my steam account and bought something from the marketplate (dota 2 thingy), so ofc I have the detail on which account that I bought the items from (I can share it here if it helps)
1.5 Recent history login says the login comes from "https://core.steaminventoryhelper.com/", on which I have never once logged into
2. I think he also the same person who hacked and logged into my instagram account, I were able to get the access back immediately
3. Which comes into conclusion that my gmail account is the one that in danger (already changed password tho), another information is that my IG and Steam were hacked in the same date, which is yesterday
4. I have my instagram hacker email because he changed the email into his email (I can share it here if it helps)

What should I do next?
Is my account safe after just changing password?
What about my gmail?

1. they sold most of my steam inv and then they overpayed for some random dota card thing on steam marketplace
2. 40 min later my email on my insta gets changed with no 2fa request at all, to k******7237@dlvmail.com (Obv bot email)

just wondering if youve had any problems since you changed your passwords
btw my insta and steam have completely seperate details

Steam security suggestions.

I would also suggest changing the password on any devices linked to your steam account, such as your PC, email, and phone.

You can contact the police, it's a crime (identity theft). They probably can't/won't do anything about it, but you can file a report. Note that if you have loved ones in the house, perhaps rule them out before contacting the police, as it's still a crime either way and a criminal record for your loved ones is probably not something you want.

All that said, as per the steam terms of use, understand that you are at fault for anything done while your account was hacked and they consider it your fault the account was hacked. If someone steals your account, logs in with a bunch of cheat programs and get's themselves VAC banned, that's your fault and you'll be VAC banned.

And steam really doesn't forget who they've banned. Some folks here have been banned for a decade or longer.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
