Stream Remote Play suddenly asking for PIN input
I use steam remote play to play my steam games at work during my lunch break. For years I would leave my home PC on with Steam running and then start up Steam on my work computer during lunch and play my games without issue.

Starting yesterday 6/17 when I clicked the "Stream" button on my work PC to stream a game a pop up showed a PIN that I need to input on my home PC. I am miles away and that obviously isn't possible. I don't recall having to do this at any point in the past. Anyone else having this issue or have a work around?

I'm running into the same situation. The "Set Pin" setting just flat out doesn't work. I've tried this on the current version of steam, and the beta version. I tested streaming to my steam deck, and to my steam link app, and neither work, I'm still prompted to enter the randomly generated code. FWIW I'm using Fedora 40 on my host machine.

Anticipated being able to stream my games from home, so I left my desktop on at home and brought my laptop. It asks me to put in a code on my home computer when I try to stream a game. What the the hell!

Steam Remote Play where it is suddenly asking for a PIN when attempting to stream a game from your home PC to your work PC. This is an unusual behavior if you’ve never had to input a PIN before and it could be related to changes in Steam’s security settings or a new feature that has been introduced recently.

What is this ChatGPT garbage? None of those options exist. If you don't know what the **** you're talking about don't comment.

Idk if this worked for other PC or not, but

I just clear data my Android Steam Link and re-pair it to my PC, then it's worked! I'm glad my Gamepad template not erased.

My Steam Link remote play suddenly ask PIN after I change my streaming setting on my Android Steam Link.

I have an idea, how about use Android Steam Link as Remote Desktop home PC. Just click Steam icon (top screen) > power > Exit Big Picture Mode.

So home PC can set pair what other PC need.
Idk, Steam link is secure network or not, but just use it for normal Steam through Android Device, why not?
