STEAM WONT OPEN FOR DAYS

Tried everything cleared cache removed my vpn and av as well as disscord re-installed 4 times done the end end task thing asked steam for help got one reply in 3days and now nothing!!!!!

Go look in Component Services < Rt-click "Run as Admin" < Computer < My Computer < DCOM Config < Shell Service Host (expand the window its easier) < RT-click it and go to Properties < Security and click on "Edit" within the box "Launch and Application Permissions"

Is it greyed out?

Is there a warning box?

OK - On clicking Edit in Launch and App Permissions, I get a warning box: "One or more of the permission entries attached to Registry value has an unrecognised type and cannot be displayed"

The one other thing from event viewer is this error:

OK - turned of AVG AV, never used bitlocker so shouldn't be an issue - ran Steam. Once again - load, reload cycle. No change! I have to get some sleep - I am working early tomorrow - but huge thanks for your support - Gaming is really important to me and not having any access to Steam is really hard.

Its not exactly as you describe - I get to Troubleshooting < windows update. All I can do then is "Run". I ran it and it came up with an update error, which it thinks it fixed and asked me to re-try the app I was trying. I retried to run Steam and there was no change;.

On a different note - since I had this fault - I occasionally now have my screen shrinking then returning to normal size and a beep beep noise like a notification - but there doesn't appear to be any notifications? Do you know what that is and how I can turn it off??
