Very high bufferbloat / ping spikes 150 to 500ms every 1-5 minutes
Hello everyone, Im having issues with stable internet connection. As you can see on the image, I have great download and upload speeds (Im using 100mbps), but download and, especially, upload have huge ping spikes and jitter. Internet stability tests shows, that Im having ping spikes and packet loses. I dont know what to do, because I've tried many solutions, such as: QoS, cmd manipulations and more but it didn't take any effect. Does someone encounter with this problem?

Bufferbloat test.

Edit: Im using Wifi. If I connect WAN cable to my PC - all issues are gone.
Edit 2: Speed limitation can help me to get to the A-B rating, but it anyway dont help from ping spikes

1. What kind of NIC device do you have in your pc?
2. Have you configured the NIC device?
3. UDP on router configuration?
4. Move the router around?
5. Ever considered that the service provider and package might throttle your upload speeds?
6. Capping download speed to 80mbs might improve upload speed?
7. Try tethered network from a smartphone, may provide a more stable network connection?
Hope this helps

1. If we are talking about Router, I use Asus RT-N11P, if about Wi-fi Adapter, I use Mercusys WH300UH
2. Yeah, I connected right now through Wi-fi
3. I dont know, where to look UDP. Sorry for waffling
4. Im not sure, moving a router can help me, because I have issues even with Etherned (Wired) connection.
5. No, because connecting to WAN port, I dont have bufferbloat at all.
6. No.
7. Tried, comes only worse.
I'll try to connect with my provider to say what tot do

1. https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/rt-n11p/helpdesk/ for firmware updates
2. Check https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005585/wireless/legacy-intel-wireless-products.html for NIC cofig I know you have a Mercusys MW300UH the process should be similar.
3. Adjust Throughput booster, Preferred band 5GHz, and packet size
4. After you done these steps did it help?

Use a network speed tester to check ping and upload after you configured.

1. I checked, I already have the latest firmware.
2. I've selected 20-40Mhz Bandwidth and IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wireless mode
3. My router doesn't suppoer 5GHz mode, I made 300mbps download + upload (then i decreased below 100 but it anyway dont help)
Unfortunually, it didn't help. I have the same results
Maybe, Is a router a problem? I noticed, sometimes it "draws" a massive orange (input) peaks,

1.Maybe you should check if there is any background apps that's uploading in the background, go to Settings/Apps/App/Turn off background. (It also helps pausing windows updates and turn off auto update and enable manual.)
2. Try switching DNS to Service provider
3. Enable Metered Connection
Did it help? 🤔

Yeah, I've limited download and upload speed and it helps me for a little bit, but I still experience ping spikes to 300-700ms sometimes. I think, I should experiment with a bandwidth or in a worst way to call Service cuz I dont get many things and what to do.
I would like to give you some Steam points for help.

Hello again. Ping peaks didn't gone even when I've bought new 5GHz router (Only lost packets gone). So, I decided let it go and just provide WAN and Ethernet cable to my PC. Now it works perfect without any ping peaks. I still don't know why connection through Wi-fi works horrible, maybe only me having these issues, but im now worried now about that.
I think, this thread can be closed :)
