Steam gift cards

I just purchased a steam gift card and the numbers got ripped off when I tried peeling the sticker back. Why are these steam gift cards so terrible? Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, none of these other companies have an issue with their cards, but Steams are unlike any I have ever seen; uniquely terrible, cheap, poorly made.

Is this their ruse to try and scam people out of their money when they buy gift cards? They get to keep the funds even if I can never access or spend the money I paid them. What an absolute scam Steam is.

There are no instructions that say to peel or anything else. How else are you supposed to get your code? I tried scratching the silvery sticker with a coin and that did nothing. The only way to reveal the code is to peel it off.

oof, how tho?? I scratched with my nails and a coin and it had zero effect. The silver sticker was completely smooth and solid, so I figured at that point it had to be a peel-off.

Thanks for the link, I'm trying that now, hopefully they don't rip me off.
