Multiplayer between Steam Family members
We just transitioned from Family View to Steam Families. Our household contains both parents and minor children. For several titles we have multiple licenses and are able to set up a local LAN, behind a firewall, for secured multiplayer. Steam Families allows us to utilize Steam for library management and license authentication while restricting access to specific resources. This is all what Steam Families is made for.

My question concerns connecting multiplayer games within our family unit. Prior to Steam Family, our children would use Friends to bring other family members into their games (such as, say, Terraria). Now that we're using Steam Family, the only way our children can play together is to "Allow access to friends, chats, and groups" in Family Management. Simply granting them temporary access to those services via the request access system was not sufficient to get the job done; they had to be allowed permanent access. This feels like a bug. Am I missing something? Is there an easier way for members of a family unit to play together?
