Is there a way to change store region to Egypt?
Asking the Egyptian folk, ONLY THE EGYPTIAN FOLK WHO MANAGED TO BUY THINGS FROM STEAM. Since I am unable to change my region due to international payments being blocked here as most of us know.

Edit: I forgot to mention the main question itself

I am asking if anyone that is Egyptian here, on this site, managed to find a way to pay on steam that isn't blocked

Are you in Egypt? If you are why isn't your region set to Egypt? If you're not, why do you think you should be able to set your store region to some other region than the one you're in?

I am in Egypt, my region isn't set to Egypt since I was travelling outside for a while and came back and while I was outside, a purchase was made on my account

I would also love to clarify before you ask, yes this was more than 3 months ago

Only steam can help you if you have gone past the 3 month cooldown

You had to use valid payment method to change regions. Region hopping is not allowed and changing region while traveling is not supposed to be done.

I mean I have no idea what payment method would work here with international payments being off here

As for the second sentence, is my account done for now or? (As in did I break TOS by doing this?)

Egypt has disabled international payments since october 2023 due to shortages on foreign currency reserves.

Due to historically high currency value fluctuations in certain regions, Steam decided to abandon acceptance of such currency in certain countries within the middle east and north african regions (MENA) and latin america regions (LATAM) and only accepts U.S. Dollars from such regions.

As such, you are in a catch-22. Valve wants U.S. Dollars but the government only allows you to pay in Egyptian Pounds. For now, you have to wait until either side changes their stance.

The other option, Steam Wallet cards (of which USD denomination would work fir your region) is out of question because you are assigned to the wrong region.

Oh well, thanks a lot for your answer /gen. I'll keep the thread up/marked unanswered in case someone from Egypt finds a way to pay internationally and decides to share the info here

Due to legal issues (compliance with the payment ban is mandatory) a legal way for Egyptians to pay in USD cannot exist.

If I recall, Egypt always made purchases in USD. The only difference now is being included into it's own Steam region with the hopes that publishers would set a regionally acceptable price for those within the MENA group.

The restriction you now face is solely due to the Egyptian government preventing international purchases.

If the OP was from Egypt they would already know about the state of Egypt and the currency problem....they were probing to find a way around by region hopping........it was obvious
