Turning on Big Picture mode (BPM) with controller (solved)

Hey,

i've got my Windows 11 PC connected to my TV via optical HDMI cable. I'm used to turn on BPM by turning on my Dualshock 4 controller (connected to my PC via Bluetooth) and pressing Playstation button to start BPM. That works well. Problem is, when my PC is iddle and running screensaver (i can see the screensaver on my TV) pressing the Playstation button will do nothing, BPM will not start. I have to go to the other room where my PC is, interrupt screensaver and only after that the BPM will start (after pressing Playstation button).

Is there a way how to interrupt screeensaver by Dualshock 4 before the BPM is started? I need to interrupt it to be able to start BPM. When the BPM is running, pressing Playstation button and using right stick and R1 will show cursor and turn controller to ad-hoc mouse. But before the BPM is actually started, this will not work.

Note is the screensaver the issue or is it actually in sleep mode?

Your issue is probably more that the initial 'press' of the home button has to trigger connecting to the bluetooth module first, once it does, then your home button will likely trigger bpm

Only screensaver is running, PC is not in sleep mode. That would be actually preferable, when new Bluetooth connection is made to PC to interrupt screensaver.

So i solved it like this:

1) turned on Windows event log for Bluetooth device connections
2) attached task to that log event which in turn runs a script that will kill screensaver process
