Steam wont send SMS to add phone to account

Here is a funny one.

Kiddo tries adding his mobile phone to his account. Steam claims it's a landline (obviously it isn't). Pressed button to send SMS.. steam doesn't send SMS.

I use the term kiddo loosely, not a kiddo. the mobile phone can send and receive SMS and calls with no problem.

Anyone else run across this steam issue?

Is it possible that you have already linked this number to your Steam ACC?
try another number and it should work

Nope. not linked to anything. It turned out steam waiied a few hours before sending the text that day. The whole day was a cluster, something broken on steam's servers. Tried it again the day after and the text came in with-in seconds.
