Square Deadzone not working!

Hey steam,
I've recently found out how to get square deadzone on Rocket League using controller layout on steam for Epic Games, but when I activate it, all of my controller mappings are messed up, and my game performance drops. I tried unchecking all of the boxes in the Steam Controller Settings, but now whenever I try to open controller layout for Epic Games, it shows an error message and closes. I can't find any forums that give any solutions for this problem. PLEASE HELP!
