Steam doesn't let me upload a 6MB gif

I'm trying to upload a 6mb gif but steam says "You can only upload files less than 8 MB in file size". Tried with 5mb and the same message appears...

Any ideas how to solve this?

Edit: It's official. Steam only allows file sizes that are less than 5MB.

I have the same problem but the same gif in size 4mb instead of 7mb and it works, I will not be surprised if they will change the limit

Edit Profile > Featured Showcase > Next (button) until you get to Artwork Showcase then select the image(s) you want.

Bark at Steam Support about it. They're the only ones able to fix it.
Will they explain why it's happening? Probably not. I think we did what we could here.

Yep me too. Can't upload Gifs greater than 4.90mb I thought I was the only one. I'm too damn scared I might've f***ed something up. Maybe It's just because of a maintenance?

(Can't we just all pretend, that it was the dial up years again and shoo off any onsite items, that are combined larger than 300-500 KB? Wouldn't complain either, if the same happened to shop pages too; at times I sit there for minutes, until all the videos embedded in the text are done, and I can finally look at the screenshots..)

Bump. I did some research and apparently this issue appeared exactly at the same time when mystery cards (winter sale cards) showed up, which was on December 15th pretty much. So yeah, its fair to say the preparations for launching holiday sale site update might have broke Steam a 'lil bit.

P.S. It also broke comments too. You cant post comments with more than 600-650 characters despite the fact, prompt message states "less/no more than 1000 characters". So yeah expect more glitches due to Steam holiday sale coming.

Same problem here. Tried to upload 2 gifs, 5.17mb and 6.82mb, both failed.
