They did screw up, and they must fix it. If we will just shut up and wait - they will think it's really not important and delay fixing the problem even further. They did send copy paste message to 90% of people anyway, so it's not like something time consuming for them. Main thing is that we showed up that it's important for us.
Of course they've got other things to do, but it doesn't mean that they can forget about our problem for months. Valve is a big company, I'm sure that they are more than able to fix little limit bug that annoys the community.
Suggestions are used to suggest new things, not to report bugs, and we definitely have a bug (or at least it seems like a bug). Moreover, that part of the answer was relayed to my question about a possibility that we'll have more supported formats, not to the bug report itself, so it's okay to report about it to support.
In addition, I didn't spam report, it was just 1 ticket about that bug with several questions in it. It's really not helping to just create new tickets or answer on support's answers, but it's nothing bad if more users will create new tickets about problem, if it's their first one. The more users report it - the higher chances that Valve will pay more attention to the problem.
In the end if you are suggesting the different format was what they implied for suggestions then this may indeed be a lost cause.
If you think keeping reporting it will do anything more power to you. Good Luck.

if ( size > 5242880 )
{
alert( 'You can only upload files less than 8 MB in file size' );
return false;
}
Instead of fixing it to:
if ( size > 8388608 )
{
alert( 'You can only upload files less than 8 MB in file size' );
return false;
}
Now we have:
if ( size > 5242880 )
{
alert( 'You can only upload files less than 5 MB in file size' );
return false;
}
So, instead of fixing the size of the bytes. They just changed the alert notice.
Goodbye 8 MB limit.
I hate this sh** and I do alot of my own GIF artwork, you can probably tell on my profile. But this is what it comes down to. It's just a real pitty......... No one at Steam was Man/Woman enough & had the cahona's to say it straight how it was.
Every employee is clearly a budgie and isnt capable of much more than just eating there "seed" & going home. Sad place to work.
But what about 20GB space just for screenshots? They wouldn't give so much of it for us if they didn't have enough space. It could be 2500+ 8MB GIF files per a user (and most people barely have 10-20 GIF's). So if they really have problems with space - they would cut that enormous limit first. And also why not just put both artworks and screenshots in that 20GB space? It's more than enough for both. So, no, I don't believe that it's a storage space problem.
