To make sure your games (which haven’t been recently reinstalled) are not corrupt or missing any files try verifying game cache files. Right click on a game, go to properties. Navigate to the local files tab and click the option which says verify integrity of game cache. This will correct any missing or corrupt files for the game.
If that doesn’t work the only other thing I recommend is to make sure that no other programs such as your anti-virus or firewall software are interfering with steam. It could be that another program is conflicting with steam or the games you are playing. Try doing a virus scan to make sure no malicious software is causing harm to your computer. Hope this helps and that you can games flawlessly soon.
I tried:
- disable firewall (exit or allow steam it both seam the same)
- disable antivirus (silent/game mode) - no difference
- uninstall antivirus (it worked for a while (half an hour) in window mode, even that it have some critical errors; but only once, now it still endures for a few minutes (max) and freezes)
- i checked game integrity: there was one file missing (fixed) - no difference
- i reinstalled c++ libraries
- reinstalled steam (deleted everything except steam.exe, steamapps and userdata)
- updated windows (7)
- updated graphic driver (gtx 550ti)
What does it do: freezing or crashing after some time in game, almost everytime when loading scenario (bootcamp). It says sometimes: runtime error, almost everytime: "cannot load mipmap ###" (different mipmaps, not still the same), usualy: "buildbot_winslave04_steam_steam_rel_client _win32@winslave04". There are some threads about this, without solution.
It doesn't crash everytime it says: "cannot load mipmap", but usualy it freezes.
I realy don't know, what to do else.
Thanks for any advice
Petr
