alien adrenaline

do you have any idea how to add steam games to alien adrenaline on the alienware x51?
because steam games are links and not actual games installed on my pc alien adrenaline cannot read the games.
if i add a game manually from the steam folder,
it says that i have to have the steam client open to run the game but alien adrenaline won't take the online link for the game. thank you
