The overlay will start if I mash the button a few times. It seems to toggle while being invisible.
At random times while the overlay is up, it will quit back to the game as if I'd hit the shortcut.
At no time does the gameoverlayui.exe image leave the task manager.
Attempted solutions:
I always run as admin
I have checked boxes to my wits' end (the community overlay boxes in settings)
I have changed the hotkey a few times
I've checked it in games of varying graphical intensity, to see if it's just computer lag. It still happens in Papers, Please.
I have also made sure I don't have any conflicting programs open/installed
Basically this is very annoying because whenever the overlay decides to finally open, it closes shortly thereafter anyway. It takes me several minutes just to look up achievements in-game because of this issue.
Anyone have any suggestions for me?
I suggest reinstalling steam or even windows. Probly another way idk.
Same here. Since one of the recent client updates, Shift+Tab doesn't work the first time in a game session. Must be a Steam bug.
1. Go to System Preferences
2. Go to Security & Privacy
3. Click the lock at bottom left (to make changes)
4. Click Accessibility and tick Steam
5. Have fun pressing Shift Tab ;)
