How would I go about doing that? Sorry if it seems rather apparent to you, but I know jack s**t about computers... Is it any different than validating the cache files?
Verify integrity of game cache
To Verift Integrity of game cache firstly right click on the game you wish to do so, go to Properties, then navigate to the Local Files Tab. The 4th button down will say Verify Integrity of game cache…. Click that will begin to search the game for missing or corrupt files, they will then be automatically corrected.
Graphics settings
However, if your problem is not resolved by verifying game cache it could be something wrong with your graphics settings for the game. There are two way to test this;
1. Right click on TF2, go to properties, General Tab, Click set launch options and type in
-Safe.
2. Same as above apart from put –autoconfig instead of –safe (this will auto configure your game at start up.
To undo these remove the text later.
You may also want to look at other Lauch Options for TF2.
Worst case scenario, reinstall the game.
Tried the cache verification; did nothing. The -safe actually fixed my graphical glitches on the start up screen, so I'm curious as to what's interfering with my game, but sadly, it didn't help the connection issues I've been having. When I replaced the -safe with -autoconfig, the glitches came back, and I still couldn't get on a server.
I guess now comes reinstalling the game... I still get to keep all my loadouts, though, right? Took me godd*** forever to get my Spy and Scout sets, among others, and I don't want to lose them.
To BlazeClaw - My firewall is turned off at the moment, and it still doesn't work.
To literally anyone listening: Any suggestions?
