Can anyone name a good open world game like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series'?
Thanks in advance!

Two Worlds 1 and 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur come to mind but they vary on a few things. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are definitely on a scale of their own. Open world games are plentiful but none are exactly like those two. The two I mentioned are open world and revolve around Melee weapons and magic.

Don't both Two Worlds and Amular have weird movement?

KoA isn't really an open world game.

Divinity 2 is relatively open, same for the games of the Gothic series. They are not like FO and TES, but still less corridor-like than the majority of the RPGs. I'd disagree that open world RPGs are plentiful, but it may be a matter of one's definition.

For something different, there's also the beta of "Don't Starve" (beta access comes with the pre-order), which may appeal to you. I tried this last night and the first impression was good enough to have an urge to play more.

Hmm well Fallout New Vegas and Just Cause come to mind.
Also, Pirates is sort of like a open world game.

Saboteur is great, slightly repetetive in some ways but I still love it and I think it's cheap now.

Kick it old school. The Avernum series gives enough "oh crap this cave is too hard for me now better come back later" to make it open world by my defnition. It's certainly not linear, though tackling areas from easier --> harder will definitely make it easier (true of any game).

Here's a better idea: Tell us what you love about TES and Fallout games! Or give us your definition of "open world," if that's the only thing you can think of that you love about them. Then we can give better advice.

Open world in my opinion is a non-linear open world game where you can develope your character any way you choose.

I'd suggest Morrowind. If you can get passed the combat system it's a really good game.

I played that a while... the combat was the only bad aspect of the otherwise great game.

Based on your very broad definition, Avernum, or probably most any of the Spiderweb games, will fit the bill.
Dragon Age Origins, The Witcher Series, Kingdom of Amalur, Fable, and Mass Effect.

No old school stuff.

For a more dungeon crawling approach, see Sacred Gold, Divine Divinity, Dungeons of Dredmor, Dungeon Siege 2 and 3, and Torchlight 2.

If you want to be completely confused, try Avernum. This game is 100% niche, if you aren't a fan of this oddball genre, you will hate it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dragon Age, KoA, ME, Fable, Torchlight, DS2/3 etc ... none of those have "open worlds" in the TES/FO sense. Dredmor doesn't even have a world, it's a roguelike...

Not criticising, just adding this so the OP can look carefully in the suggestions and not buy something he is not really interested in (those are all good games, though, and I'd recommend them as well, just not as open world RPGs).

im just going to wait for fallout 4, fallout 3 was my first open world RPG and i haven't found anything that lives up to it in my opinion. even the starting point, where you come out of the vault to look across the wastes and see washington monument in the distance.

If you want to be completely confused, try any non-console turn-based RPG. This kind of game is 100% niche, if you aren't a fan of this oddball genre, you will hate it. Don't say I didn't warn you.
