Problems using the middle mouse button during games.

So, I dug up my old CD-Rom copy of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 because I felt like playing it. When I started, I noticed that when I tried to hold down the middle mouse button to rotate the map, it didn't work. I went through all of the in-game settings, but found nothing.
After a while, I figured out that I could accomplish the same task by holding both left and right mouse buttons at the same time, so I though that it was just a problem with RCT3.
Then I started playing Portal 2, and I have the same problem in the level editor.

I have no idea how to fix this problem.
I am using a Logitech G9x mouse.

Any suggestions?

The problem is with your mouse, not the games.

Check your mouse's settings, make sure the click wheel is set to be clickable and act like a third button.

I had a similar problem with my mouse and checking the settings fixed the problem.
