Buying stuff WITHOUT steam wallet.
Recently I started playing Global Offensive, I got a weapons case from a game I was in and wanted to open it, so I tried to buy a key off the market place for 2.50, it wouldn't let me use my normal method of payment (Paypal) and now steam is withholding the money I loaded onto my wallet.

I figured while I wait, I'd buy the Operation Bravo pass since it increases drops and theres a couple skins that come with it... When I try buy it, it automatically selects the steam wallet... Which I can not use...

Is there a way to switch this? I'd REALLY much rather just use Paypal to buy stuff like I always have. I personally hate the steam wallet feature and it pisses me off that I can't load the amount I want, rather I have to load an amount they pre-set. I also loaded the money in my wallet for a specific reason, I don't want to spend that money on the bravo pass because it's supposed to be going somewhere else... Which I still can't use because it's being withheld by steam.

Does anyone know if you can choose a different payment method? Or are we being forced to use the Steam Wallet from now on?

All microtransactions run through the Steam Wallet. Only way to complete them is having funds on it.

Just a tip that keys are cheaper in the Market instead of in the game. Same goes for Dota 2 keys and TF2 keys.

The Bravo Operation is basically a DLC pack though, I can't buy that via steam with my paypal like I would any other game/dlc?

if there's anyone watching this in 2024, you can buy a game then ask for a refund in your steam wallet then buy the skin

Do this enough times, and Steam will start treating it as an abuse of refunds.

Better just buy wallet funds directly.
