I just tried this, but (*sigh*) it didn't change anything. But thanks for the suggestion!
I seem to recall reading somewhere that editing the "bfullscreen = 1" line to "bfullscreen = 0" in some games files might make them display in full screen, but I can't find this game's files to check this parameter, and I don't recall ever changing something like that to begin with. Of course, the last time I played this game was a LOT of brain cells ago....anything could have happened since then.
So, does anyone have any other suggestions? And where is this "bfullscreen" line, and how do I edit it, if it needs editing?
If a Steam game (any game) launches only in windowed mode, and there are no in-game settings to set it to fullscreen, is there a way to alter the config file(s) for that game to change it to fullscreen? If so, where does one find the config file for a specific Steam game, what should they edit, and how do they edit it?
Okay, so where do I find the config files for a particular Steam game? I've done a search of my system for anything related to (any of) my Steam games, and all I find is the executable.
And sorry for my ignorance, but what is a "Source game", and how do you enter the "-windowed launch parameter"?
You're right....I don't completely understand, but I think it's becoming more clear. I'm not the most computer literate person in the world, but I can follow directions with the best of 'em.
So Fred (or anyone else who cares to chime in), let's say YOU want to find and edit the config file for a specific game, and let's say that file is hidden, somewhere on your system. In the Windows Vista (or similar) OS, what specific steps would you use for locating and "unhiding" that file?
I realize the method I used to find the file will be different on other OS's, but that's how it works in Vista 64....
