Steam client login bug

[Jim's Weed Control]

Logging into the steam client isnt working.

## Behaviour:

- Opened steam, was logged out and saw a new "who's playing" page, selected my main and was prompted to login

- Scanned QR code, steamguard on phone works

- Client immediatly responds, goes to loading screen

- Loading screen

- More loading screen

- Eventually:

## Tried:

- Adding -tcp to steam shortcut as reccomended here https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/1/864971139135358336/

- Rebooting & updating windows

- Exiting running (but inactive) VPN

## Hypothesis

1. I've managed to get on a canary build and found a bug with this new "whos playing" interface

2. This might have happened after a windows update, could be a microsoft thing (although I had one available when this happened so maybe the update didn't happen the other day)

3. ?

- Logging into steam in chrome worked fine (just did to post this)

I was getting a very similar issue, though the specific error message was a bit different. As far as I can tell, my issue was related to the recent big UI update. I ended up reverting to a previous version of the app using these instructions: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/6516193260180345619/

Yes i got this too, Steam was fine this morning, this afternoon, it asked for LOGIN, then didnt recognise my login details, said it coudlnt find me, eventually after 25 mins wasted messing around it let me in after resetting my password. I had to do that silly game of choose the squares too....GRRR :(

I restarted my PC twice. I tested it on my phone and logged out on my phone, it wouldnt let me back in on my phone either so had to spend 25 mins doing everything again. sigh :(

Dit it solve the issue?

I thought my account was stolen. It threw me out of the account, then I had to fill in TEN captchas , one after the other, and then it stopped on error when resetting password even if captchas were finally correct.

Now I can't log in, I cannot even go into Offline Mode.

What a trolling update.

Ok I got in now, though with no help from "password recovery".

I had to do the Captcha thoo but i got back in eventually
