In the steamapps folder there are a bunch of files called something like "appmanifest_XXXXX.acf" with XXXXX being different numbers.
Basically every installed game has such a file in the library and it tells Steam if a game is installed.
So google for the appmanifest number for the game you want to manually copy, then copy that folder to the other drive AND also copy over the correct appmanifest to the steamapps folder on the other drive. Then delete the files and appmanifest on the original drive.
Restart Steam and the game should appear as installed and ready to play in your library, now on the other Steam library HDD.
HOW is that possible, VALVE??? Do you have your programming done by literal codemonkeys???
I just deleted all my games and have them downloading again...
How pathetic. It's 2023 and Valve is STILL too incompetent to do what devs did in the 90s, possibly earlier...
Edit: Technically, the Comodore 64 was able to give you a list of games that is "installed" on a "drive", so... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VALVE!!!
Steam > Settings > Storage
That's the Storage Manager that does show you exactly that.
Try reading before posting.
It s all in the first lines
"AppState"
{
"appid" "674020"
"universe" "1"
"LauncherPath" "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steam.exe"
"name" "World War 3"
"StateFlags" "4"
"installdir" "World War 3"
Thank you, but this is beyond pathetic from Valve.
It's like 1 million years after the comodore 64 and valve is too incompetent to READ A DIRECTORY!!! I was able to do that when i was literally 2 years old!... L Shift O, 2 4 2, Comma eight return!
How is it possible that literally everyone at Valve is stupider than me when i was 2?
Sounds like another issue created by the new UI. Contact and report it to Official Steam Support so they can add it to the pile of things they have to fix in the new UI disaster. Follow these instructions and use the old UI.
