How to open friend's list from double clicking steam icon in desktop toolbar tray
Was this feature removed unintentionally in the new UI update? I tried searching the settings all I could find was it bringing up the store/community page etc.

Seems like it they removed it to push more people to the store. What made steam great was being able to quickly and easily communicate with your friends. No one needs to goto the store that much but they do need to see their friends list often.

The store pops up everywhere now, it doesn't make me want to buy anything, quite the opposite, it's very annoying and I hope they change this behavior soon.

The Steam boot loader on the taskbar?
Just Left or rightclick Steam> and select friends, below friends is the new global Settings button click on that as it includes Friends and chat at the top opens it to settings.
This basically Steam > Settings now in 2 places.
The other is top left Steam>Settings.
