How to get the old Steam UI back!
Go to your Desktop
-> You could either use your existing Steam shortcut or make a new one
-> Right click on it
-> Properties
-> Under target add a space and then steam -vgui

It is suppost to look like this for example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" steam -vgui

I hope this helps! :lunar2019piginablanket:

Tell me if it worked for you! :spazdunno:
I think you might be able to just add "-vgui", the "steam" is not necessary!

Great! Loved to have helped! :steamhappy:
I got that off of YouTube! A friend had issue with it, so I figured there must be a way.
I just wish Steam would let you choose directly, without some tweak that almost no user is going to know about! :steamsad:

On the shortcut you've make or the one found directory folder. Go to properties and in 'shortcut' section under the description 'Local destination'. The line below that you will get: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" I have added this parameter mentioned in another thread steam -vgui at the end of this path.

The client will look and act as June 14 messy update never got born. Wished only to find now is that guide someone created here to block Steam from auto updating. What I thought I was doing to go to Steam > Exit on the top of the left side in the main client without being connected to internet. And to log back I had to be again off of the internet and run Steam. That form worked untill Valve decided to start extracting and installing updating while you have Steam running on the background in June 14th. That method I was doing was simple and I was doing for a month ng any income update.

yea, not gonna be doing this buddy. I for one, love the new UI, and I'm not gonna bow down to whatever the socially acceptable thing is. I have my own beliefs, and I will stick by them. So yeah, not gonna do it for me buddy, might as well delete this thread. Yeah, not happening buddy, not bowing down to your system, buddy.

Be ready though for when this gets axed. So far, every single legacy fallback option got axed sooner or later, coming to exactly nobody's surprise, and that'll happen this time as well.

Thanks for that tip.
Works well and got all the small mode right click options back (since the new UI took away most of them).

I don't think they will no longer allow this to be used. I am not sure but I think it was there for a long time for all the Steam updates and I believe they would make a lot of people a lot more angry if they removed this as well.

Glad to have helped! I just wish Steam would have not pushed that update on everyone so early! I tried the Beta for a long time and it was messy then and it is sort of now still!

Yeah, to be honest I do not mind the new UI either. This is just for people that are having issue with it. I myself had some issues with it too, not anymore for the most part though. :steamhappy:

<3 thank you!

unfortunately...
... -vgui seems to break the friends list connectivity ... :facepalm:
and..
.. i'd like to add a vote for "i hate the new ui, it actually causes me physical pain"... the new ui is trying to do too much when all i need is a games list in small mode.

Works for me, but correct, a temp fix as valve will get rid of it and force you to use the new terrible ui
