You need to launch ubisoft and have it running while you launch the Steam game
Did you recently reinstall the game? Sounds like your Ubisoft Connect/UPlay client is severely out of date.
All of Ubisoft's games now use OAuth to register games. They do not need the cd-key because one doesn't exist. If they're asking for a cd key it means you do not have the proper Oauth conenction working
Ensure you
1) hvae the latest ubisoft connect client installed
2) you are logged into Ubisoft Connect with the CORRECT Ubisoft user you originally were playing with
3) launch the game from steam
1. Download Ubisoft connect, they changed their client.
2. Login to your Ubisoft account that has been used to linked to your Ubisoft game.
That basically it, so either ensure you're using latest correct client, and ensure you're on the correct Ubisoft account, there are no game transfering for ubisoft accounts that why pay attention which Ubisoft account you login to if you have multiple account from Ubisoft.
