How to reduce the usage of the current steam

Steam wasn't eating much ram usage on the previous version but now it consumes higher than my antivirus. Memory usage is at 30% idle.

No problems here. Running latest Beta branch version on Windows 11 with 32GB of RAM.

Oh, so everyone complaining about how Steam uses too much RAM for the last 15 years has been lying huh?

Kinda seems like some people haven't looked, and then there's an update, and then the look and assume Steam using more RAM than they approve of is a brand new thing. But it's not a new complaint on any level.

At any rate I've never had an issue with RAM usage. If you have enough RAM, why complain? And if you don't have enough RAM, might be time to upgrade your RAM. You're going to have to upgrade your crappy systems eventually. Being mad at whatever straw breaks the camel's back might be misdirected anger.

I have task manager open always, its the first time being above all other apps.

It's using 800mb of memory for me, 22% total memory usage, I got 16gb ddr4 here. I think steam used to take up 400-600mb before the update? Not sure.

With reduced settings it takes around 1gb ram.
Not sure about the video ram.

Nevermind, it's hitting 1.2gb for me now after playing for a while. Is this a memory leak? Would it be patched or this is the new amount of resources steam will take up now?
