I don't understand why you people thought this was a good idea, why change the UI into something completely new while the previous one was okay? it was nostalgic, it was flawless.
It was cool, and now i have to learn my way around it all over again, either add an option to revert to the old look or REVOKE this new UI entirely.

I am NOT happy with this update, steam devs.
Please give us an option to switch back.

Message window problems were present BEFORE current update. I can personally confirm this. And while there are problems with new UI, community and store load and perform much faster for me.

On the PC, the new UI is much, much slower, the menu response is delayed, and it uses ten times more memory. What "much faster" are you talking about?

Well, for me, everything was delayed in old UI and isn't delayed in the new one.

The previous one was despised at first as well, cause people said the one before that was okay. It's the standard complaint with every change Valve does.

I don't care about the look. I'm not a fan of the mobile look, but I can get used to that. The bugs in this UI, though, they're annoying as hell.

It's so slow and buggy that I can barely do anything. I'm hoping they iron out these problems instead of just leaving everything as is.

Makes sense when you consider they're doing it to try and push steam deck sales - annoy the current userbase into buying something that runs it correctly (or as correctly as something by valve can run anyway).

Honestly the new UI is beta as there are still problems with it, idk why they pushed it to main yet lol who knows maybe the steam beta branch fixes some of the problems people are having as well

To be honest it was broken, it sucked and things like built-in web browser were just bad
I wish they didn't kill off functionality though

On my desktop Mac running 10.13.6, the most recent Steam UI is a featureless, inert rectangle. Does not include a way to buy games, nor a way to play games, nor anything else.

Why the F do I need to have multiple tabs??? Give me the option to open new tabs in a NEW EFFing window!!!

I hate using tabs...

And I really hate the way the useless screen space is expanded - now uses up 3 cm for top of page content that used to fit in 2 lines.... ArgH!!!!!!!
