Facebook/Steam Profile Linking

I linked my steam/facebook profiles, but it only shows up on facebook - that is, I thought my facbook profile would be linked on the steam interface as well, so my friends on steam could find that. Does it not work this way? I hit the link on facebook itself that says link to steam, but it give me an enter password page that I cant fill out because steam is perma logged in on my computer and I'm not sure what the password is now, lol. I tried to find the link to reset my password as well via my email but I'm not finding an option there, probably because I'm perma logged in. How can I change my password or do I have to log out to get the password email thing? Id hate to log out when Ive forgotten my password and then continue to just get FAQ links lol.
