Call of duty Modern Warfare 3 HELP!! Can't install from disc!

I put in disc 1, accept to the terms and conditions and when the installation begins and gets to the second step "Preparing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer files for install" and above it says "creating local game cache files..." nothing happens and after hours of sitting on this screen there is no progress. I don't know what to do- i've searched around for hours and tried a number of fixes that haven't worked. Can anyone help?

Seems that u allready registed CODMW3 in Steam...so u just need to download the game :)

Yes, but I don't have much data to play with on my service. Hence I payed for the disc.

These days, the discs are commonly used as a means to attach the game to your account since games can change quite a bit from the time the disc is pressed to the time you go to install from it. Games are still coming on DVDs (with only so much disc space on each when games are pushing 25 GBs or more) instead of Blu-rays so you will have to download games more often than not.

hi there i found a solution if you browse the files on the disc and start the setup as administrator it will work

I found another solution...

Firstly, go change the Date on your computer to January 19th 2012

Secondly Start the installation.... after the game files have been cached and the installer fails to start at the installation, quit the installation.

Go to your steam library and only download the Dedicated Server portion of the Game, its about 2MB.

Once Modern Warfare Dedicated Server is installed... run the installation again.... Like a Boss!!

Don't forget to change your time back after the installation...

create a folder in any disk named call of duty mw 3 then copy all files from disk 1 and disk 2 and paste in that folder"all should be in a single folder only"now open steam and go to restore option and restore it from there by selecting the folder where you copied the files and then do next,next and done.......its the only method working for new version of steam june 2017 ......so it must work fine ......if you face problem contact me through here

i have the disc and it wont setup, when i try to download the game it only downloads the singleplayer exe and the multiplayer exe, but not the game

Forget the discs and just download the game from your Steam library.
