Portal 2 Disk Read Error
Hey guys,

I want to play portal 2 with a friend, but apparently he is getting Disk Read error. Which is very weird because it's a downloaded game.

We already tried the Verify game cache and we have tried deleting the Bin file and re-installing the game but nothing seems to work.

Anyone got an idea?

Can you provide the exact error, along with when it happens?

Yes, the disk error is talking about your hard drive, not your CD drive. Have you tried googling this?

We fixed it by redownloading Portal 2, but we changed the folder it installed to. Apparently that works

Go in your steam folder \Steam\logs\
Find file content_log.txt
Open whit notepad
I had error like thisUpdate job for app 730 canceled: Failed to backup file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\bin\engine.dll (Disk read failure)

Normaly its last one on list
find that file adn rename whell i deleted it
Than go in steam Library and pres right mouse on your game
And find Properties
Than go in Local files
and press VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE...
Normaly helps
