All game organization categories dissapeared today?

Anyone else have this problem? I had all my games organized into categories to make it easier to find them but today upon login I noticed that all my category titles had been WIPED and that NONE of my games were categorized....da f**?

Try restarting Steam. If that doesn't fix it, make a habit of creating backups of your shortcuts.vdf:

<Steam program files folder>/userdata/<number>/config/shortcuts.vdf

did you exit steam manually after making the changes or did windows exit steam when shutting down the PC?

always close steam manually

yes the FAQ is not for this issue but the warning counts for all things steam.

only if it was stored in the cloud, on a fresh install you need to wait a bit when before your catagories show up.
