Logitech G35 - Can't hear others in Steam voice chat.
Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

When using the G35 I can't hear anyone talk in TS3 or Steam voice chat. People can hear me but I can't hear them. I can hear everything else, movies, games, audio tests, etc but not people. If I unplug the headset and switch back to my speakers I can hear people just fine.

Here's what I've tried so far..

Download latest software
Disconnect / reconnect headset
Toggle 7.1 on / off
Headset set to default playback device

------------------
Win 7 64bit

I tried this and it didn't work.

Edit:

Just to make sure I set my speakers back to default device and they pick up voice chat just fine. I think the problem is with the Headset software or the fact that it's a USB device. Just my guess.

When Looking at the TS3 channel I can unplug the headset and nothing will happen but when I do this with the speakers it will say I have been muted / no playback available.

Setup Windows audio in 7.1.

start
control panel
sound
select your headphones
click the configure button & set it to 7.1

Set all your games to 7.1 or 5.1.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I did disable the headsets utility manager as well as disable the 7.1 and that didn't help any.

I'll give this a shot. I'm pretty sure they are already set to 7.1 in windows because I remember that being the only option. I haven't checked sound settings in games so I'll do that when I get a chance.

Thanks, that worked! I did get it working on TS3 and Vent but I'm still having the issue with Steam voice chat. I don't see any playback device options in steam.
Why is my lanague changed?
