happening to me as well. I HATE Steam so much right now. first, it wont let me download Dead Space, and now it wont even let me into Steam. gawd. Steam really needs to step up thier game.

BTW the Dead Space error i am having is:
about 21% into the installation of the game it stops download and says "update required" so i press continue and is goes on to 26% percent and does it again. press continue, goes on for about 1/2 second then error pops up "An error occured while updating Dead Space "disk write error" so if you have any info of a fix for that thanks heaps :) - :I - :( - >:(

I fixed it a while ago, sorry for not posting sooner. all you do is re-install steam and download the steamui.dll from a .dll website. place the .dll in the steam folder and press "copy and replace." that worked for me, sorry if it doesent work for you guys :/

- Hi, ALL !
I have the same problem, today, after the last update of Steam ... :(

Where exactly is SteamUI.dll in the Steam-folder ?
Can we just add the new SteamUI.dll (I have already downloaded it from link: http://www.dllme.com/dll/files/steamui_dll.html ) ?

Thanks ! :masoneagle:

=====================================

Addition: SteamUI.dll is in the main Steam-folder.
But, unfortunately, the simple replacement of the files (SteamUI.dll) is not enought ... !
May be NobleAssassin18 is right, we must Re-Install the Steam ... :( ...

@PanteR, its just in the main folder, steam, but it didnt seem to work for some people. try restarting your computer in safe mode and retrying the update, that should work.

Be noted that you can send bug reports of the Steam Beta here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/

Someone has reported this in the Steam Beta, you can find it here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/558750985617100383/
There is also some solutions that other people have wrote in it.

OKAY EVERYONE! i have found the fix, and it worked for one of my friends. all you have to do is restart your computer in Safe Mode. delete all of your steam files other than AppData and Steam.exe. double click steam.exe and it should successfully install the update! please reply to this post if it worked/didnt work. if it didnt work, i will promise to help you find a fix. thanks everyone!

Fastest way instead of redownloading after deleting files in safe mode : add to your steam shortcut, ex : "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -clientbeta client_candidate
