Steam losing games you've payed for and the sad state of steam support. Anyone else having the same?

Ok, I am taking to the forums because I've had this problem that has been ongoing for months on end... I'd say about 4 months. I started a ticket for help from steam support and since then I get replies about once every two weeks. IThe simple problem is I bought a game and played it for a while. At one point in time it stopped showing up in my library on multiple compputers with fresh installs. I've explained this to steam support because who wants to lose a game they've paid for on here? The answers I receive involve constantly the same thing... reinstalling the game client for all these months. I simple told them after all these attempts they need to put the game bafck under my account. How hard is that?

Anyways, I wonder if anyone else's steam clients have lost their games and what they did to fix it. I'm exasperated at the poor service steam has provided and the fact they don't even understand the problem when I've spelled it out for them. If i were a manager, I would've fired the degenerate support team a while ago.

I'll second this. I've had this account for a very long time, and despite a number of long hiatuses and not spending quite that much, a game has never up and disappeared for no good reason. In fact... I wish a few would just because they take up space now and I know I'll never play them.

What games have been causing you issues Brandwyn? Might help narrow down your problem.

I can kind of see where the OP is coming from. I have a similar issue with Civ V only. It's never shown up in my library---if I want to install it I have to go to the store page and do it there for whatever reason. This happens across all my computers, but it's not annoying enough for me to feel like I need to waste time making a support ticket over it.

I could see how it would be incredibly frustrating if this happened with multiple games and it phased in and out at random.

Maybe going to the Store page and installing/playing from there could be an alternative solution for the OP.

Yeah, but it's not a great solution if this happens with more than one game, and/or if the games impacted change on a regular basis.

Generally deleting your clientregistry.blob file will fix those issues

Thanks for the information all. I have just one game that has been gone and never shows up. I will try the store page and see if it is there.

If you get your games from shaddy keygen stores online then it will disappear since it was marked as stolen if it just vanishes.

No, it was from steam. Apparently the other fixes mentioned don't work. Somehow steam took my game back it appears.

What game was it and did you happen to revoke your payments made to Steam at all?

Additionally, did you actually buy it yourself or did you have the game gifted from a friend?

I've bought a ludicrous amount of games and never had this happen.

Also if you check your account details, it'll come up with a list of games you've received/purchased on the account. If you really did own the game, it should still be listed there.
