and yes, I'm in the steam beta versions.
Yes, exactly the same here.
It's very annoying that such a basic thing is not implemented. Specially considering that Big Picture mode doesn't let you select the directory to install the game, at least they should allow you to set a default. Big Picture always installs it in C:
This still doesn't work for me, it says that my second drive is the default but it still takes my first drive when I want to download a game.
I had the same issue! Finally fixed it by going into the Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders, then right-clicking the drive in question and hitting "Repair".
I cant uninstall games off my D:/ drive.
I can't repair or remove my steam install folder from D:/ drive
I have PUBG on C:\ but when it updates it downloads the update to D:/ drive and then installs it to PUBG in C:\
My PUBG update fails every time cos D:\ will go to (Not Responding) whenever it is used and cause the update to Driver Error.
How do I change where my downloaded updates go to? so that im not using D:\ drive at all?
At the tippy top where it says Steam - View - Friends - Games - Help
Pick "Steam" and then "Settings"
Then go down to where it says "Downloads"
Then at the top where it says "Steam Library Folders" - click that
Then Add a Library Folder to the new drive you want to use as Default.
After you have added the drive/new install location of games...
And it is showing up in your Steam Library Folders section
Inside that window
Right-Click on the drive you want as default and select "Make Default Folder"
Click Close.. click Okay..
Voila!
