Why is the daily sale 24h ?
Hey, why is the daily sale 24h, instead of 48h ?

The sale ends on January 2 at 10am Pacific, as per the news page:

The Steam Holiday Sale will run until 10AM PST, January 2nd.

My guess is there will be an encore sale between 10am January 2 and 10am January 3, thus the January 3 date on the store page.

No. Daily Deals used to be 24h, but they changed it to 48h at some point.

The current sales being 24h is, most likely, to make all sales end at the same time. My guess is that after the sale ends, the normal Daily Deal that we'll be seeing again will be back to 48h.

The last couple Steam sales had a Last Chance Sale on the final day offering some of the "better" deals that people may have missed. Sounds like that will happen on this sale as well from the 2nd to the 3rd.
