Steam servers dead? Please help !

my friend is trying to connect to steam but it won't let him connect into his account and it is not a password issue. he wants to buy a game but he can't and it is a flash sale " arma2 combined ops". But anyway is anyone else having this problem????

I think they're ok. Get him to try browsing to www.steampowered.com.. if that works, he can log in and buy thorugh browser.. if that doesnt work, he might have a network issue.

Could also try browsing to steamcommunity.com, as I believe this is hosted on a different server.

If all that fails, you should just buy it for him, and gift it to him when he gets it sorted again ;)
