Blutooth Speakers Stop Working In Steam Games. (Please Help Going Crazy)
I have recently purchesed a bluetooth speaker to play steam games with rich sound. I custom built my PC, not realizing i didnt have bluetooth support. I purchesed a UBS bluetooth adaptor from bestbuy. Its manufacture is "Rocketfish". Everything is set up properly, as far as i know, because for youtube videos/music it works great. However, once i start up steam, and pick a game to play, there is NO sound what so ever. This can even happen when im playing music from say itunes in the background. I can still hear itunes, but my game has no sound. Even with nothing running in the background, there is no sound once i play a steam game. I tested with NON steam games, such as wow, and other games work fine. I installed the driver disk that came with the UBS blueooth adaptor. Im really not sure whats going on, what steam is doing to make it not work, but its very frustrating. Any help is much appricated.

Somebody fixed it.
Here's what he did-
1 Opened Control Panel.
2 Went to Hardware and Sound.
3 Went to sound settings.
4 Went to recording tab.
5 Enabled stereo mix.
6 Problem disappeared.

sharing this in case the rambling gives anyone ideas:

I ran into a sort of similar issue with an old laptop i had. my laptop had bluetooth and it would connect to a seperate bluetooth receiver, but audio would not work from many applications, just system sounds would work. I am trying to remember what i figured out the issue was. I think it was related to my bluetooth adapter and how windows recognized it as an audio device.

its all about the sounds settings, you have to disable recordings (microphone) and enable the stereo

doesnt that mean no more working microphone at all?
sorry to necro but recently encountered this problem and im trying to figure it out. while disabling handsfree telemetry, as it was advised in this very thread, fixes the problem, as a consequence, microphone now is completely disabled and can no longer be used neither on desktop, nor in games.
also, for some reason, when handsfree telemetry (bluetooth mic) is disabled, my headphones act weird and pc requires constant bluetooth on/off to fix it.

it means no more working bluetooth microphone. anyway disabling the bluetooth microphone in fixed it for me. it probably is due to the cheapo bluetooth headset i have that goes into the bluetooth headset mode if the mic is on.
