That's what the fans are for.
I restart my computer once a week and have only turned it off a handful of times throughout the year.
Any computer that can't handle 24/7 is broken and you should take it back and ask for a refund where you bought it.
And why would it break because you are using it? Why did you buy it? To leave it in some corner to just look at it...?
Computers don't need rest or sleep. That's the reason we invented them.
oh ok thanks for your help. :) So would it be a good idea to host a server from my computer or rent a real one?
I know that feel. Whenever I eat out now, I think to my self:
But really, you'll be burning out your CPU parts. Of course, that's only with saying all technology dies eventually, just running a server on it would have that be faster. I hate to advertise on here, but Amazon Web Services offers free server hosting on their micro instance. I think that would be enough to run a small Left 4 Dead server. Considering checking them out as a server host.
Also, I'm afraid that me making it 24/5 makes its fan and hardrives spoil. For serious though, will it harm my computer a lot?
I am also wondering if sleep works. I heard it is pretty "safe" but im not sure if the server will close( connection problem in game). I tried it once but was unsure with the results. Could anyone reply to me in accordance to my questions?
