Escape key and console key wont work.. HELP PLEASE!!! ~~~

I just got a new computer running Windows 8, and for some reaason, my escape key and my console key wont work when I have CS:GO open, but it works with everything else and any other programs. I have console enabled in my settings, so I know thats not the issue..

Can somebody help me out here? This is a real bummer..

I've tried re-instaalling twice, and still nothing..

My console key is " ` " and my config seems to be fine also..

When you say your Esc key doesn't work, do you mean it doesn't open the menu while on a map?

Where do you try to open the console? There's still a bug that won't let you open it while on the start screen. Switch to Inventory or Watch or something else.

yes, it doesnt open the menu while on a map. usually when i press escape i can browse servers aaagaain or quit the map. and i try opening console when im in game.. doesnt work..

Did you perhaps bind those keys to other functions by mistake? Take a look into your "config.cfg" and search for these lines:

bind "ESCAPE" "cancelselect"
bind "=" "toggleconsole"

Keep in mind these binds are from my config. I did change the key for the console, but didn't touch the "ESCAPE" key. See what command the "ESCAPE" key has bound to it and what key has the command "toggleconsole". Do the necessary adjustments.
