Holiday Sales
Does anyone know if products that are on the Holiday Sale offer until 2nd Jan could be put on a flash sale/community pick or daily deal? I'm interested in Dead Rising 2 and all the Assassin's Creed games. Just wondering if the current long term deal is the best we're gonna get for them.

Usually, items will be on sale the whole time, and then also be up for a flash sale and/or a daily deal, maybe even more than once. Sometimes if the games are popular enough they don't make the flash sales or the daily deal. Odds are the 2 you listed will be up for daily deals or flash sales....
I'd just keep an eye on them, if the sales ending and they still have hit the main page it's time to buy.

Too bad the selection is awful this year. How about some decent games not the crap that isn't selling Steam?

Over the last year other on-line stores have really taken a bite out of steam having the rep for the best deals, that big wait for the steam summer sale and now this holiday sale does not seem to be that great.
Not to mention, I don't know about you guys, but in years past I've had a list of games I was hoping to pick up. This year their might be 2 games I'm looking at both new enough releases that I'll probably not find them for a great deal anywhere. So their is a sale but I pretty much have all the games I've been trying to get.

Aye I've pretty much got all the games I want to get at the moment.

Yeah, the big sales on Steam haven't been that successful for me -- I'm pretty sure I've spent more on OTHER shops than Steam on both the Summer Sale period and the Autumn Sale period. I've not bought a Christmas Sale game yet, anywhere.

I've still bought a game or two from Daily Deals, though.

But, in general, I have enough games that are still on my "ToDo", so there's no urgent need to get more. More often than not, if I see an interesting game on sale, I just dump it into my wishlist or ignore it completely because there will be another sale at a later time, and then another sale, and then another sale... and by the time I actually "need" it the base price might be lower and the sale might include DLCs and stuff.

Bundles are a more common exception to this; if I see an interesting or possibly interesting game in a bundle that generally feels cheap enough I might get it. Compared to a daily deal, at least some of the other games in a bundle might also qualify as "oh well, if I have it I can just as well take a look at it" which helps on the "mkes the bundle feel cheap enough" part.
