How can I recover my password without being logged out of the client?
I've become logged out of Steam on my browser (Firefox), but the actual Steam application (which I'm using right now) still has me logged in. I can't seem to remember my password, and I can't log into Steam via my browser. How can I get it to send me a password recovery email while still being logged into the client?

Go to menu Steam - Options - Tab "Account" ;)

Um... But it asks me for my current password in order to change my password. The problem is that I can't remember what my current password is...

Do a password reset and they'll send a new one to your email account. This will probably reset the cooldown on Steamguard too.

Um... What I'm saying here is that I can't figure out HOW to do a password reset without logging out of the client here. What happens if something goes wrong or I can't remember the answer to my security question and then am locked out of the client as well?

If you know your Steam account user name and if your email is verified by Steam, this will work:

It requires you to log out so you better be sure you know your user name and email is verified.

If you tried earlier, Steam's website was being wonky. Same thing happened to me and I knew I had the correct password and it kept telling me it was wrong. Try it again now, it seems to be fixed.

Okay, I'm gonna try this. I'm pretty sure that my email is verified. If you don't hear back from me in a couple minutes... Well... That means something went wrong....
