Steam Browser can not find any servers.
I have already tried deleting my blob file and restarting. I have tried changing region settings and restarting. I have tried messing with Firewall, and yet I can't seem to make this work.

I have already seen many posts with similar problems, yet none of them have the solution I need. My problem is that I can't seem to find any servers in Steam server browser or in any game server browser. I can't even find any servers in Rust! However, if I manually input their IP they would actually connect me to the server. The hook in this issue is that the server browsers don't always end up empty. They actually may have a couple of servers that don't usually suit me. This issue has been annoying me for a very long while, now, and I can't seem to find the solution. Also, sometimes, even if I connect through a friend to a server, I would have to refresh a few times before I actually recognize the server.

If you're wondering, I'm not suffering from any connection problems, my internet is fast enough, and my router is good. I am using a wired connection and there are no hiccups. The network, overall, runs very smoothly.

I really need help with this, so please leave any suggestions on what I should do. Thank you for any further submissions.

Some extra information, there are NO filters on my server browser(s), and there are NO filters on my router. The ports required are all opened and my NAT is set to Moderate, so it's nothing beyond the settings or files on my PC. So what might be the problem with this?

I have also tested turning off steam and turning on RUST as a standalone, and the server browser STILL failed to load up any results.

This is happening to me on CSS, TF2, and GMOD.

At least I'm not alone.

Thank god I'm not alone on this. I've had this problem quite literally since I joined Steam. I've done just about everything to fix it, but nothing works. The only games I have success with are CS:GO, and I have to use the console to direct connect in TF2, and Killing Floor used to kinda work. All in all, I've never seen a populated server browser in a game.

Yep, I have the same trouble, its annoying

Yeah! I can only connect via console, and other direct IP ways to connect, but none that use a server browser work. I have high suspicion that this is because of the router we use for our hosting, and the amount of connections it holds at once, but that's not proven yet.

Certain games like Payday or CSGO work, and I have no idea why. Maybe it's because it's constantly searching for servers around myself rather than having one wave of a worldwide browser search that overfills the router. Either way, this is annoying as hell.

I'll get back to this thread if I find my personal solution. I do highly believe now that this actually may very well be on MY end.

That's pretty much the same for me, but lots of solutions I find say it could be my router's firewall, to try connecting directly to my modem. Too bad I don't have a router and do that anyways.
(Router? I hardly know her)

Posted this on another couple of threads, it worked for me:

Have you loaded any security or system care type software recently? It might have changed your internet settings and caused this error. I've had the same issue for 6 days and finally tracked it down to that today. Try:

Click on start
Run (or in Win 7 use the search bar)
Type in inetcpl.cpl
Enter
click Connections tab
click LAN settings button
if there is a tick in the proxy settings box then untick and save (if there isn't then close and forget everything I've said - this won't work)
try to connect but if that fails then reboot the system and try again.

Good luck

Seems legit, but all my boxes were unticked. Looks like I'm screwed.

Hey guys, I managed to fix this for myself awhile ago, turns out it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Norton installation that came on my prebuilt. I switched out for something else, and literally everyone of those games started working properly.
tl;dr get a new antivirus
