Any way to purchase in Steam without International Transaction Fee in Australia?
I use Mastercard currently. It automatically convert AUD into USD and the bank charges me about 3% of the price of the game extra for transfer the money to an oversea company.
Wonder if there's any way to avoid this International Transaction Fee? would paypal help? or do I need to change a bank? (Commonwealth now)
Thanks

Having the same problem with my halifax debit card
No there is nothing you can do to stop the fee. Since steam is located in the USA and you live in another country you can not avoid the fees. You have to pay them to convet AUD to USD no way around it.

If I read correctly, PayPal has a 3.5 percent markup when converting to USD. Some people have been waiting a year or more for Steam to start supporting AUD. Best bet is to buy the games in-store, or off of Amazon if they have the game you want :(

^thread for people hoping steam supports AUD

Another option is to find someone who can buy the game in the US or other regions with low prices for games, and if willing to accept AUD or something in a trade. Just make sure it's not a region locked game.

I'd offer to help, but idk what I would/could buy with AUD. Hopefully you find a working solution.
