1. Check for Unauthorized Activity
• Review your email and account: Check your email inbox and spam folder for any messages from EA or related to account changes (such as password resets or linked accounts).
• Change your passwords: If you suspect that your account has been hacked, immediately change the password for your Steam, EA account (if you have one), and any other related accounts.
2. Contact EA Support
• Since this involves your EA account, you’ll need to reach out to EA support directly to resolve the issue.
• Contact EA Support: Go to the EA Help website: https://help.ea.com
• Click on Contact Us and select the relevant game (Battlefield).
• Select Account as the category and describe your issue.
• EA support can help unlink the unauthorized account from your game and either allow you to link it to your own EA account or assist in securing your account.
3. Verify Your Identity
• When contacting EA Support, you may need to verify your identity. Be prepared to provide information about your account (such as purchase details, game history, etc.) to prove ownership.
• Be cautious: EA support will never ask for your full password. Only share the required information for account recovery.
4. Unlink the Account Through EA’s Website (if accessible)
• If you can still log in to your EA account through the EA website or the EA App (formerly Origin):
1. Log in to your EA account.
2. Go to Account Settings.
3. Under the Linked Accounts section, look for any accounts that are connected to your EA account (such as Steam).
4. If the account you’re seeing isn’t yours, unlink it.
• You can also unlink your EA account from Steam by going to Steam settings > Account > Linked Accounts and removing the connection.
5. Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
• To prevent future issues, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on both your EA and Steam accounts.
• For EA: Go to your EA Account settings and enable 2FA for additional security.
• For Steam: Enable Steam Guard under Steam settings to protect your account.
6. Check for a Hack or Compromise
• If you suspect that your account has been hacked:
1. Check your email for signs of compromise: Look for any unusual login attempts or email changes.
2. Revert any suspicious changes: If any of your account details have been changed (like email, password, linked accounts), try to reverse them using account recovery methods.
Additional Tips
• Check for unauthorized purchases: Review your purchase history in both Steam and EA to see if any unauthorized transactions were made.
• If you do find any signs of fraudulent activity, contact EA support and Steam Support immediately to report it.
