Account compromised? discord also affected? any feedback appreciated..thankyou
ok so discord has stated i have broken conditions......so i was literally chatting to a friend and without warning or having a clue what was going on discord it seems completely forced closed. prompting me to think my friend had a connection problem but this was not the case as i later realized by the message they had left. ... when later i tried to use it i was forced to reset my password.... once inside i see that i had been gifted and 50 dollar gift???.....but i need to explain something the day before whilst browsing the web something strange and outside normal protocol happened.... the dos window opened i can't remember what it displayed seemingly nothing which appeared extreme although clearly something was wrong especially when i could not close this DOS window, eventually i had to reboot the computer, and when i did this it took some time as the pc was stating a program called GDI.exe and another program were stopping the machine from rebooting which i immediately related to the un-closeable DOS window which had appeared though after a min or so the pc rebooted, on restarting thesame DOS window again appeared, now i knew that something was most certainly not as it should be, and again i could barely use anything on the computer, it was at this point i signed out of this profile and switched to my other barely used profile, now the machine worked as it should and no DOS window appeared,,, due to some other reason i checked my email and noticed i had a bunch of notifications that i had sold i steam items????, when i never had, after checking this with google i i found a posts of compromised steam accounts,,, and a bunch of steps to re-secure peoples accounts..
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/3826424998953066708/ this included running a virus/malware etc scan.. de-authorising sign in, changing email password, and steam password... altering sign in process to a 2 step process etc...
So it was at this point i felt i needed to get support from steam to be certain this does not happen again....it was at this point i noticed a load of transactions carried out on the same day which i know were not me, mostly steam community? purchases , so i filled a page with details which basically is to let steam know of a budget or money transaction problem, and it wanted me to enter the total of what i though war incorrect unjust or whatever, at least that's how i understand it, So anyway i completed this , and put a note that i believed my account ie steam account has been compromised and that i had taken all the steps to re-secure it, which i have still to receive a reply

Now comes what happened on discord i was talking to a friend and suddenly there was no response, and i had no idea why infarct i thought the issue was on their side as they regularly seem to have issues, but when i checked discord hours later, i am signed out could not sign in without resetting my password, and once inside, indicates i have received a steam gift, wasn't sure what too think at this point though what had happened before was in my thoughts, i clicked it once and got a warning this maybe a phishing attempt (which is obviously what did happen earlier) though i have no real idea why, and no discord is saying that i have broken community guidelines and that the account is being restricted........

If you have read everything i appreciate your time, and and ask for what you think i should do, the gift has a steam ID attached to it....reveals who sent it?.... and it's funny because the total of these purchases of steam products is fairly similar amount to the value of the gift.. however i'm in UK and therefore dollars does not relate to me So one thought was that this was steam itself giving me a refund? though i ruled this out when i have had no other corresponding feedback to the notification of a breach i sent them either to my email or on steam...i'm still very confused although satisfied i think that the account is once again secure, for instance does anyone from experience whether steam would refund you for this?? As all the items that were fraudently purchased are of no interest to me...

Btw there is more to this story but, for my reasons, i''ll be keeping this to myself.

If you have any questions please ask as i understand this is complex and i may not have explained everything in my post, bu t i''ll do what i can to if i missed something

thx
